Greek foot: what it is, whether it is a problem, and how it affects your shoes

If you have ever looked at your feet and noticed that your second toe sticks out further than your big toe, someone has probably already told you that you have a Greek foot.   • Generous length. The margin between the longest toe (which in a Greek foot is the second) and the end of the shoe should be at least 10-15mm. If the margin is measured from the big toe, it might seem enough, but the second toe will be compromised.

Do I need special insoles if I have a Greek foot?

Not necessarily. A Greek foot does not require orthopaedic correction by default. If there is pain or an associated deformity, a podiatrist can assess whether any type of orthotic would help. But in the absence of symptoms, the priority is appropriate footwear, not insoles.

Can I tell if my child has a Greek foot?

Does a Greek foot hurt?
