CARING FOR THE BODY
FROM THE GROUND UP
Conventional footwear has changed our feet, and not for the better: although 95% of babies are born with healthy feet, 77% eventually experience foot pain*. That’s why at Koops we design shoes that adapt to the foot, supporting movement, balance and connection.
*Daily activity in minimalist footwear increases foot strength (Curtis, 2021).
WHY BAREFOOT?
A foot-shaped shoe with a thin, flexible sole, zero drop and a wide toe box that respects the space and movement of your toes. It is not a trend: it is the most natural way to walk.
Real benefits, backed by podiatry
Growing feet
Natural foot development
Children’s feet need freedom to grow, widen and form the arch correctly. The wide last and flexible sole allow the foot to develop without compression.
Early sensory stimulation
Feeling the ground activates proprioception and improves balance from the very first steps. A child’s brain learns to move with the whole body, not just the feet.
Strength and muscle development
Without artificial cushioning, the muscles of the foot and leg work naturally. More strength, more stability and better prevention of problems in adulthood.
Better posture and balance
Zero drop means the body aligns from the ground up. A natural step improves posture and reduces falls during the motor learning stage.
The foot that wakes up again
Muscle reactivation
Modern feet have been put to sleep by decades of rigid footwear. Barefoot shoes awaken the intrinsic muscles and bring strength back to the foot.
Improved posture
With no heels or elevation, the spine aligns from the ground up. Many users notice relief in the knees, hips and lower back after the transition.
Sensory connection
Feeling the ground is not only physical, it is mental too. Barefoot is a practice of presence: every step brings you back to the body, back to the now.
Long-term prevention
A natural step reduces joint impact and accumulated overload. Designed to support you for many miles without taking its toll.
THREE PILLARS,
ONE PHILOSOPHY
They are not labels. They are the three ways a KOOPS shoe responds to the body wearing it.
Movement
A flexible sole that respects your stride and allows the foot to work as it should: bending, spreading and responding to the terrain. Walking stops being mechanical and becomes something alive.
Balance
Natural support without forced cushioning. Zero drop, wide last, real contact with the ground. The body aligns from the base and every step gains effortless stability.
Connection
Feeling the ground means returning to the body and the present moment. Every step sends information, awakens the senses and reconnects with something modern footwear had silenced.
The foot is not only the first point of contact with the ground: it is a sensory organ. Designing barefoot shoes means giving the body back what it should never have lost.
MADE WITH CARE,
PAIR BY PAIR

WE ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS
What exactly are barefoot shoes?
Barefoot shoes mimic the feeling of walking barefoot. A thin, flexible sole, zero drop and a wide last that respects the toes and allows the foot to work naturally.
Is it safe for growing children?
Yes. Every kids’ model is reviewed by podiatrist Neus Moya (Col. 1284) and designed to support the natural development of growing feet.
How do I choose my correct size?
We have a detailed size guide with measurements in centimeters. We always recommend measuring the foot before choosing.
Do I need an adaptation period?
If you are coming from conventional footwear, your feet will need time to reactivate their muscles. We recommend progressive use during the first few weeks.
What is your returns policy?
You have a period to return or exchange your pair if it is not right. Check the full conditions on our returns page.
